FAKE Book Alert!
This book appears to be a blatant fake. Full of inconsistencies (the first guy says "I had never seen rockets before" but later the same day says "I had seen these rockets before in Italy"), the 325th division did not exist, the first guy is the sole survivor of 3 different battles on D-Day, timelines are wrong (vehicles in locations that vehicles didn't get to on D-Day, etc.) (I have been to Normandy many times over the last 30 years...), English idioms are used that didn't exist in the 1950's, the same phrasing (sometimes even exact) appears multiple times from different interviewees: "To be honest" and variations over and over. “heart was beating very heavily", "heart was beating as hard as mine", "whose heart beat with relief" "which frankly", "was frankly", "Frankly", "Frankly", "frankly," "heart that frankly, was pounding” "head partially severed", "severed limbs and heads" "hit horribly in the head", "shot him in the head", “single bullet to the head", "clutching his head", “in the chest and head", "immediately shot in the head", "clubbed the man over the head", "hit by shrapnel in the head", "shot in the head", "which head goes with which body", “backs of their heads severely damaged", "shot the tank crew... in the back of the head", "he was shot cleanly in the head". Apparently everyone was fantastic shots! and on and on with many other catch phrases. The word "rockets" is used 45 times! There is nothing anywhere on the internet about this book or author in German (wouldn't you publish first in your native language?) Wouldn't there be a website or any record of this author? For shame…
