This is Why their MSM doesn’t “float” - Silicon Dioxide
Alright, basic info. Bergstrom is who sells the MSM (OptiMSM) to retailers who repackage and distribute it. There is a review on here talking about “Kala Health’s” version of MSM, and states that it “floats”, but Pure Encapsulations does not. Here is why, and you can call and ask Bergstrom and verify this directly. Only the “flakes” made by Bergstrom are 100% pure MSM. Pure Encapsulations does Not sell the 100% pure form. They sell what Bergstrom calls “micro-fill”, and most companies that repackage and sell it, like Pure Encapsulations, call it MSM “powder”. The powder form uses Silicon Dioxide for the powder form so that it does not clog their machines, and then it is sold to companies like Pure Encapsulations. The “flakes” might “float”, even tho I’ve never seen them float, because I pour the flakes in before adding water. Pure is charging a lot of money for the same product as another manufacturer who simply purchases this MSM and encapsulates it in Vegetarian capsules as well. The Silicon Dioxide isn’t the deal breaker, but the combination of the price and the fact that Pure Encapsulations doesn’t even buy nor sell the “Pure” form of MSM from Bergstrom, that’s a deal breaker. Call, email, talk to Bergstrom. Look up their website to get their contact info, and then ask yourself if you feel like spending the extra money to buy from a company that simply has the word “Pure” in their name is worth spending the extra. Even the powder form by Pure Encapsulations is not 100% pure, it’s the exact same micro-fill that other resellers of OptiMSM are putting in their capsules. In order for Pure Encapsulations to sell the 100% pure form of MSM, they will first have to start buying the “flakes” from Bergstrom, which is the Real pure form. I also thought Pure Encapsulations was actually pure, until I did a little research, or actually just called who they buy their MSM from. Don’t pay the extra price unless you just really want to spend the extra money.
Pure Encapsulations, I do feel guilty to write/type this review, because other manufacturers need to admit this as well, or at least know their product well enough to state this in the product information. The problem is that you seem to have no problem charging the extra price for an identical product, which is disturbing. It is also disturbing to carry the name “Pure” yet not offer Bergstrom’s pure form, their “flakes”. Maybe this will be on the list in the future? I’d hope so, or at least hope the price is lowered.
