I purchased "That Boy" and "That Wedding" and they've been sitting on my TBR list for more than two years. I was waiting to read them until the third book came out, but it looks like I'll be eligible for social security before that happens so I decided to get reading. What a let down, I didn't enjoy this book at all, and I've already deleted the second book from my Kindle. The book starts out when JJ is a child, and it ends when she's 22. In all those years, she never seems to mature, she still speaks in the same voice, like a 12 year old, and the older she got the more obnoxious it was. She goes from tomboy to boy crazy, constantly makes out with one of her BFF's, and is completely oblivious to the fact that her other BFF is in love with her (even though EVERY SINGLE PERSON around them can see it). Even when a really tragic event occurs in her life, it seems to affect her very little, and again she's worried more about her boyfriends than the tragedy. Danny and Phillip are, of course, really hot and, of course, they are both attracted to JJ. Maybe if the author hadn't written her as an immature idiot I could have seen the attraction, but I was baffled. She's that bad! I didn't appreciate the slut shaming in the book, (I really wish that trend would die already), but of course JJ holds tight to her virginity until 22, which seemed completely at odds with her behavior in the book. And of course it's fine that Danny and Phillip are hooking up with girls left and right. At the end of the book, JJ gets engaged, and it's clear she is not anywhere near mature enough to take that step, not to mention they've only been actually dating for A WEEK. The only redeeming quality in the book is the accuracy of how big Husker football is in Nebraska, it's practically a religion.
