At first, I thought this was a terrific product, then reality set in. The demos of all the sifting litter boxes are made under control; they pour a glass of water, then show you how easy it is to clean. If your cat is at all like most cats, he or she likes to dig down in the litter box and bury their waste. When you go to clean the box, the solid waste cleaned fine, but clumped in the corner, and stuck in the webbing of the sifter is the byproduct of cat urine and clumping litter. What a mess! Not only is this hard to clean out, but when you pour the litter from used pan 1, into clean pan 2, the original pan has clumped urine/litter in the corner. Now you have two more things to clean! At first, I added more litter to the box, thinking the cat would not dig down so deep. That didn't help...the next day, after sifting, it was almost too heavy to pour from one pan into the other. This litter box will go to the same place that box with the motorized rake went; the pile of "tried and hated" not-so-great ideas. So glad I didn't get rid of my old standard litter box. I never thought I'd say this, but after using this sifting litter box for a few weeks, the old school box is a pleasure to clean!
