Expensive antique
If you have a pile of old CDs you want to import into your iTunes library, then this is an expensive solution.
If you still own old DVDs, then you can add this bulky drive to watch them on your brand new MacBook.
If you want Blu-ray compatibility, sorry.
The usefulness of this peripheral is extremely limited.The price is ridiculous, and that they don’t make a Blu-ray compatible version is pathetic.
The only reason I bought this was to import my CD collection.
With that said, it works reasonably fast and mine came new in box and undamaged. So there’s that.
