Show is not true to Lord of the Rings.
I started watching this show a few days ago and found the main character extremely unlike-able and she was and is mean and rude to everyone for no reason. Beggining, she was rationally told that maybe they should head back, she decides to move forward and one of men fall due to severe weather and she tries to abandon him. The other soldiers ask her to stop and she tries to get them to move forward and abandon the one troop having issues. After she sees that no one will listen to her, she decides to help the man up and then keep going. What was the point in this in the first place? She lost nor gained anything by attempting to abandon him and could only gain from having one more soldier to fight with her.
Later, they get to their destination and encounter a frost troll and it wrecks all the soldiers except Galadriel who slays it single handedly which makes no sense because it took the entire fellowship and Frodo almost dieing to kill one in the first movie. After this fight, she insists on moving even more further after all her men almost died against the protests of the men. Who tell her that they have had enough and they have exceeded the time limit on this venture given by their leader and choose to go back again Galadriels wishes.
When returning, Galadriel demands to continue her journey to Elrond and was nothing but rude and mean to him despite how excited he was to see her and showing interest in what has happened in all that time. Regardless she kept up this mean attitude. She continued with that attitude with everyone she has encountered throughout the two episodes that are currently out.
The reason I mention these things about her behaviour is that she is the main character and this type of behaviour does not represent what Lord of the Rings was about. It is about happiness and friendship and love. This is represented clearly in the opening of the first movie and is why Gandalf loved the hobbits because of simple purity and happiness and why they were very resistant to the rings influence. This series not only does not represent this common kindness but the returning characters like Elrond and Galadriel are nothing like their movie counterparts.
This is not even counting all the story inconsistencies this series holds so far.
