I ordered this same-day delivery because I was in need of a chopping board urgently. I washed it before first use with mild soap and padded dry with a paper towel. Splinters and a yellow residue came off all over the paper towel. I was disgusted but it was my only choice at the time. After I used it ONCE (only chopped 1 small radish in 3 pieces and halfed 4 tomatoes, and used a veggie chopper for everything else cuz I was worried about eating splinters) and washed again, I noticed more splinters coming off, and the side started splitting like in the picture. I'm very disappointed. I have never had this happen to any wooden chopping board before even the ones that were 2-3 dollars. Too bad I threw away the packaging because I didn't think I would have any problem with a simple chopping board. Also don't want to drive 25 minutes just to return this. The only thing good were the size and thickness.
