The color and speed of this printer is excellent. After 4 months of use we find the colors to less expensive than the HP it replaced because it uses the individual colors more efficiently than the HP black/ color cartridges did. I am pleased with it in all ways but one, and it's a significant issue. The printer does not stay connected to the wifi when it's "asleep." Instead it reconnects each time it powes up. Typically this takes 2 to 5 minutes (typically = 73%). However there are times when it takes 30+ minutes to connect despite all attempts to power down, reset LAN settings etc, and twice it's taken over an hour to connect. The graph of print time is bimodally distributed with peaks at 3.5 minutes and another, much smaller peak at 20-25 minutes. (Yes, I am a nerd.) We've learned to power up the printer as soon as you sit down at the computer to print something, and usually this works, but once every couple of weeks someone in the family starts to walk out the door only to realize they forgot to print something. 75% of the time the document will print without issue. The other 25% of the time we'll have to abandon the print job for fear we'll be late. We usually come home to find the print sitting in the tray. If you're confident you'll always have time to print well in advance of needing your work, you will be pleased with this printer. Unfortunately that is not the case with our household, so the printer can be an occasional source of tremendous frustration.
