I bought this radio three and a half years ago. After about one year of normal use the pre-set buttons on top started to fail: that is, you would push one and nothing happened. This problem gradually became worse with the buttons on top and now has spread to EVERY BUTTON on the radio. It's all haywire: you push the clock-set button, for instance, and the station changes, or the band changes, or the brightness of the display dims. By now the pre-set buttons on top are 100% useless. The radio sounds as good as it ever did, which is excellent, the reception is also excellent and undiminished, but none of that really matters when it's so difficult to use. This is the second Crane radio I have bought, but I won't be replacing this one with another Crane. The company evidently doesn't care about long-term usability. Update, October 28, 2018: Immediately after submitting this review I was contacted by a representative of C. Crane who offered to send a replacement at no charge. Ms. Urbina couldn't have been nicer about it and followed up at every step. I have been using the new one every day since then with no problems whatsoever. In light of this experience I must say that the C. Crane company certainly DOES care about the long-term usability of its radios, and just as important, it really cares about its customers.
