Buyer Beware! Don't Fall For The Hype! Read the Good AND Bad Reviews!
This is an updated review! I purchased this travel system before my baby was born. I was drawn to this travel system because of the stylish look that is similar to many high-priced strollers out there. I also was impressed at the large amount of highly rated reviews there were for it here on this website. I fell victim to the hype...
I urge all of you to READ THE REVIEWS! You'll notice that a large percentage are written by people who are still pregnant and haven't even used the stroller or carseat yet. I looked past this, and I shouldn't have.
What you see is so different from day-to-day use. When it was unpacked out of the box I loved this system. It looked cute and was super easy to use and switch between the different seating options. However, once my baby was here and I was using it every day, my opinion changed dramatically.
CARSEAT:
The carseat is not to be compared to any of the major brands out there. It is fairly hard and does't have much cushion between the part where the baby sits and the foam/plastic molding. It's just some fabric, basically, no padding for comfort. If you have a newborn, the newborn insert offers some comfort and additional protection, but once they are out of that, they're resting their little heads and backs on some hard plastic. The harness straps rub on a newborn's face, and its not a very soft material. I had to take them off. The base is the only thing I can praise about this carseat. It is very similar to other major brands out there, and is sturdy if you can attach it properly. I also like the quick release button, but it doesn't outweigh the negatives about this seat. When my little one was in the seat, I never felt she was fully protected, and I ended up purchasing a Graco Snugride Click Connect 35 seat for her, and feel much more confident about her safety and comfort when we are in the car.
STROLLER
First off, I do appreciate the snap-and-go style of this stroller. Putting the carseat in it is so easy and it's pretty slimly built, so it's easy to get around in a city with it. However, again, that one part that I like does not outweigh the negatives I experienced on a day to day basis. The frame itself is pretty thin. It's super light, but it feels like you're losing sturdiness with the lack of weight. When walking on a city sidewalk, the whole system seems to shake and wobble, including when the casrseat is attached. The moveable handlebar is nice, but pretty much all of the parent consoles that I tried to attach to it did not quite fit, so I was never able to find something to properly hold my phone, keys, drink, etc. The adjustable seat part is good in theory, but not practical. The bassinet is actually HUGE. When it's laid out, it takes up so much room when you are walking! You can't see five feet ahead of you because the thing is so long! It also sits fairly low, and it just seems too low to the ground for my taste. The seat part is very difficult to set up. There's a fabric strap you pull in the back to create the seat and foot area. You have to pull the straps and hook together two straps. Those two straps are the devil to click together. I would spend about five minutes struggling to get them to meet to click in. Not ideal when you're trying to get somewhere! You have to undo this every time and return it to the bassinet style in order to close the system. That process gets very old very quickly.
I used this system for about two months before calling it quits. I ended up spending the money I wanted to save on a great stroller and car seat that I feel confident about. I'm no longer worries about her safety and I have far less headaches as I no longer have to struggle with a poorly designed seat. I urge you to just suck it up and do the same; you won't regret it. Don't comprise saving a few dollars for safety and function!
TLDR: Most people who review this stroller haven't actually used it yet. Looks good in theory, but for every day use kinda sucks. Spend the extra money for something safer and more functional.
