I ordered a set of two for my family room based on all the positive reviews. When I received them, I was excited to unwrap them and start using them. The first one I unwrapped looked much like the Amazon product picture, with a n alternating striped pattern of light and dark word, but the second one was MUCH different!! It had no light wood whatsoever and was just an overall dark kind of drab looking wood. It looked like a completely different table. I was very disappointed that they were so different because they indeed look strangely mismatched in the same room. Definitely didn’t look like they were purchased as a set. I expected some unavoidable and unique variations in the wood, of course, but I didn’t expect such a stark difference between the two wood colors and patterns. The description on Amazon mentions each being unique wood, but it doesn’t point out that there could be a VERY stark difference from the picture posted. If you are ordering two of these to use in two different locations in your house, they will probably work fine. If, however, you want to use both of them in the same room and expect them to look similar, or if you expect the striped light and dark look pictured, you may be very disappointed like I was. I contacted the seller with my concerns and even sent pictures, but I was told I’d have to foot the bill to have them sent back because they were not defective. Since they are so very heavy, it would be very pricey to return. I’ve learned a very expensive lesson about online shopping , so buyer beware!! I did suggest that the company might want to spell out this possibility in the description for people ordering more than one, but they didn’t respond to my suggestion. I hope they will revise it in the future. Both of my tables also have smudgy veneer finishes, which I didn’t expect for the price. if you look at the table from the side, it looks like someone touched the finish while it was still wet. If you look down at them, it’s not very noticeable, however. I could have lived with that. The drastic difference in the color and pattern of the wood in the two tables is my biggest complaint.
