Although it doesn't say it in the description, this closet organizer is adjustable. The top vertical rods that have the clamps fit down into the middle rod and can be lowered or raised until they fit your existing closet horizontal rod. Then you just tighten the clamp. I did put duct tape around the existing closet horizontal rod under the clamps to keep them from moving and it worked very well. The closet we used it in was only 57" wide and most of the other closet organizers were too big. Our rod height was 65" and this adjusted nicely. The shelves and the bottom horizontal rod are adjustable, too. UPDATE: The rods are flimsy and don't hold up - in the end we had to duct tape the horizontal rods as they broke where they secured onto the vertical post. We threw them out and went with the plastic adjustable closet organizers that attach to the wall and had to have them cut to size and installed by a professional.
