LOVE THIS THONG -- BUT NOT THIS YEAR'S MODEL
I've worn Merrell sandals for years. Actually the last two pair I had lasted for about 10 years; finally they looked so sad and bad I had to get rid of them. Bought a pair of these q-forms in brown. Great for walking and great on hot days when you don't want allot of shoe because of the sweat. After I wore them for a while I actually bought another pair in brown. Just today, however, I decided I needed a black pair, so they are now on their way!
I jumped the gun with rating these sandals before I received them --- simply because I have two other pair of these same ones and assumed these would be no different. NOT ...
I received my black pair a few days ago. The left one was longer than the right one (right one too short for my foot) and they were both labeled 6. Left shoe too big, right shoe too small (I have two pair of brown size 6's in my closet that I ordered last year and they are great!). When setting the black ones side to side with my second pair of brown ones -- that are still brand new and in the box -- the black ones are obviously inferior in quality. The top of the sandal (both) curls up in the front so that it doesn't touch the ground, the materials used look cheaper and actually feel different to the bottom of my foot, the assembly looks cheaper and they weren't as comfortable on the foot. They didn't fit the same, they didn't feel the same, they were lighter in weight and looked like they would not wear well. It was also obvious that their QC doesn't exist.
This makes me sad. They are either trying to keep a price point and sacrificing quality or have contracted it out to a different manufacturing plant in China that is not doing the Merrell name any favors.
