I work with various microscopes in the lab, and I thought a low power inspection scope for a child was a good idea. This one is built ok with a light and easy knobs. The view is acceptable. However, the power I estimate to be 1.5x, not the advertised 8x. That's not enough to give much more than the view without the scope. Very disappointed since a slightly stronger lens wouldn't have cost them more to install.
