You can see from te photos I uploaded how badly the finish is. This was after the first 40 minutes of its inauguration. The instructions recommend lighting an initial fire to clean off toxins and chemicals from interior cooking area. I appreciated the reccomendation to coat everything with olive oil first. All greased up and shiny I built the initial fire in the firebox. I stayed close and monitored the fire and temp. The chemical odor and smoke that came off was horrific. I am really thankful to take the extra step before throwing my food in there. Very toxic smelling. But the finish on the firebox blistered and melted after 40 mins. For a $200 smoker my expectations weren't high to begin with. I was definitely expecting some shortcomings. But this really caught me by surprise. It looks absolutely ridiculous now.
