If you think that the people on here complaining about defective ones are just one-offs, read this review. I thought the same, bought it anyway, and then had the same issue as everyone else! I purchased this on March 6th, put it on my seedlings on March 8th, and by the 16th, it was broken. When it worked, it distributed heat well and I had good germination. Thank god I went over and checked my seedlings today— the mat was hot to the touch (I had it set to 77F, definitely not hot!) and the thermostat said 0.0 and was stuck continuously heating. If I had let it go, it would have killed my seedlings for sure and who knows what else it could have done to my house or the plastic table it was on. Do NOT purchase this. It sucks to spend more on a product when you can get something for cheaper, but this is NOT one of those things you can buy the cheaper version. This is a dangerous product. I am not the only one who has had this issue. Amazon should look into the prevalence of this issue and probably pull this product before someone’s house starts on fire.
