I bought this for the same reasons others likely did - to extend the life of my battery-powered Ring 2 video doorbell. Installation was pretty straightforward even though I have the doorbell and a wedge kit. I first installed this directly on top of the wedge kit, but didn't like the look, so I reinstalled it in this order: 1-the solar panel, 2-the wedge kit, 3-the Ring2 doorbell. I've noticed NO change in the daily discharge of my battery. The app tells me "Solar Status - Add a Ring solar charger to Extend Battery Life" with NO indication that I already have the solar charger installed. I've checked the power connections multiple times and there is no issue with that. This simply does NOT WORK. I've reached out to Ring on their forums and there are 6 pages of complaints about this product. All say pretty much the exact same thing. Luckily for me, I'm still in the return window for my purchase.
