Tru Niagen: Overpriced Niacin for Suckers...
And yes, I was one of those suckers. But with all the hype, I felt I should at least give it a try. The minute I opened the box from Amazon, I knew where a good portion of the cost was going -- could the packaging be any more pretentious or wasteful? Who really needs that pretty blue box with a slogan they can't back up with human studies? Niacin, niacinamide and even inositol hexanicotinate ALL raise NAD levels, but at a fraction of the price. Maybe even throw in some d-ribose and you be able to make your own 'niagen', but that's just a guess. Don't be a sucker like I was. $50+ (inc. tax) for a tiny, tiny bottle of an overhyped supplement inside a fancy blue box -- one with no independent studies, no studies comparing it to the other forms of niacin -- is just ridiculous.
