Great form factor undermined by severe usability issues -- AVOID
I now wish I had read all reviews before purchasing this cooler/heater because it's severe and impractical limits are not disclosed in the main list of features. Here is what is NOT disclosed: when used in an automobile, the unit must be turned off and disconnected from the vehicle's power BEFORE turning off the vehicle's ignition; moreover, the unit must off and disconnected from power when the automobile ignition is turned on, after which it can be connected to power and then turned on. The instruction manual warns that failing to follow these steps will void the warranty. From a practical standpoint, this means two steps every time the vehicle is started and two steps before the vehicle is turned off. For example when used with a minivan, when pulling over to a Rest Area the driver or passenger must exit the running vehicle, turn off the cooler/heater, unplug the cooler/heater from the power outlet, and only after these two steps, turn off the vehicle. The two steps are repeated when the vehicle is turned back on: leave the running vehicle, plug the cooler/heater into power and then turn it on. Who designed this cooler/heater with such insanely impractical power limits? Whoever it was, they gave ZERO consideration to real-world ease of use. I can't imagine using this cooler/heater in inclement weather and find it infuriating that the warranty-voiding limitations were not disclosed in the product listing. This cooler/heater is being returned and will be replaced with a Coleman unit that has none of these power n/off limits AND includes an AC adapter!
