After reading other reviews, I was worried about this being hard to put together, but it came together pretty easily - for the most part. However, I couldn't figure out how the middle piece, that separates the two sections, was supposed to fit. No matter how I flipped it around and tried to make it fit snug, there were gaps between this piece and the walls of the compost bin. Since I'm new to this whole process, I finally decided that maybe this was intentional, and air flow is important. Maybe bits of stuff I put in one side won't make their way thru the gaps and into the other. Nope, I was wrong. After less than a month of use, there's more stuff in the right side, even though I've only put stuff in the left. So this defeats the whole purpose of having 2 compartments. Now, I have to stop adding stuff to let it all break down and become compost. So what do I do with all my new compostable items? Back to the landfill! I'd love to hear suggestions on what I missed about fitting that middle part in when I put this together. But fixing it will have to wait till it's no longer too disgusting to empty.
