This USB adapter does _not_ mean strict USB Type-C and/or USB 3.1 standards. This is a common problem now since so many devices now share a port and plug design. The catch is that there are several different standards using one form. Not a problem if standards for the format are followed, but _many_ manufacturers are failing to do this. This adapter will work with some of your devices, but more demanding ones will not. I attempted to attach and external solid state drive using this and it did not work. Testing with other adapters showed that it was the adapter, not the drive or the port on the computer.
