For Parents/Grandparents who are looking for a fun, light, even goofy book series for their children/grandchildren, a note of caution. In the interest of full disclosure, Dog Man is created when a cat plants a bomb and blows up a policeman and his dog. The dog’s head is "cut off" and transplanted on the policeman’s body. Since this was a sealed box set, I based on my decision to purchase the series on reviews and also the author’s Captain Underpants Series. Huge mistake on my part! Extremely inappropriate for younger children, and definitely not the subject matter I would have been looking for my children/grandchildren had I known prior to purchase. Not to mention all the crude humor and horrible spelling. There are too many other really amazing books for kids to read to waste your time on this mess.
