I find this book to be fan fiction in the worse way. I was more interested in this so ...
I have read this book and found Shana Mangatal to be untruthful in her statements about her relationship with Michael Jackson. I knew Michael from 2007-2009 and met him through his former lawyer and friend Peter Lopez. I find this book to be fan fiction in the worse way. I was more interested in this so called romance, " Love Affair " that she claimed happened between her and Michael. None of these sexcapades happened, Michael was never intimate with Shana, not even once. Michael and I once had a conversation, just going down memory lane and he started talking about all of the women who had claimed to had been intimate with him and he mentioned Shana and said that she was the worse of them all. Michael said that Shana was insanely obsessed with him, he said that Shana turned a friendship and simple dating into a full blown love affair, and that Shana constantly lied behind his back about a romantic and intimate relationship that never was. Shana says in her book that Michael kissed her on the lips without asking her permission, that he just did it. WRONG! This was not Michael's way at all. He was just as polite in dating as he was with other situations, maybe more. If anything Michael would have gently asked if he could kiss her. She made it seem like he just forced the kiss on her.
Michael said that Shana once lied about being intimate with him on a night that he was actually with his mother, Michael said that he had not seen her for days and that it wasn't true. He said that once when she was invited on tour with him as his guest it was just that, A GUEST. Michael said that no one knew but one person that Shana had gone to someone in his entourage and claimed that she was supposed to be staying in Michael's room. Of course Michael knew nothing of this, and she didn't know that Michael was already in his room. She was hoping to get in the room before Michael did. When Michael was confronted about what Shana said he just laughed and said that it wasn't true and to tell Shana that he did not want to be disturbed. Shana would stalk him! Michael said that Shana once did have his phone number and that she called him so much that he stopped answering most of her calls. Michael had confronted Shana in a nice way many times about her spreading lies about them being intimate and that they had a love affair going on. Michael said that there was no getting through to Shana but that he did not want to hurt her feelings. Michael was so upset and angered at Shana's behavior that he did speak with his mother about it because he didn't know what to do about Shana. Michael then changed his number and dropped Shana like a bad habit, she then went around telling people that Michael was cruel in the way that he did it. What was he supposed to do? He tried talking to Shana, but she continued to spread the lies, and now this book.
None of those close to Michael at the time saw any evidence that she was Michael's girlfriend, and the Jackson family have not come forward to back Shana up in her claims.
Shana also says in her book that Michael was the aggressor. The aggressor? Which Michael Jackson is she talking about? Because it certainly isn't the Michael Jackson from Gary Indiana. Michael Jackson was a flirt and that was his way of making it known to a woman that it was ok for her to approach him. Michael loved women who were not afraid of making the first move and starting the conversation. From what I can see Shana barely knew anything about what Michael was like.
A very good friend of mine who had met Michael and had briefly done some work for him between 2003-2004 and who now goes by the name of Lane Jordan had this brief statement to make about Shana and her book. " The name Shana Mangatal came up from an article that a friend of mine had read online, I then mentioned her to Michael. I had never seen anger in Michael's face before. Sadness, happiness, yes, but never anger. To this day I can still remember that look on his face when mentioning Shana. After a brief conversation about her Michael said that it's almost as if she doesn't understand that she's being hurtful. When I moved away Michael and I continued conversations by phone and I got to know him even more, and I visited a couple of times and from what I learned about Michael I think that less than 50% of this book is true."
I believe that this book does no justice to Michael, more like smearing his name even further. There seems to be no end to the lies that Shana Mangatal will tell, and this book proves it.
Shana further states in her book that she was told, or got information from another source that Lisa Marie would complain about Michael withholding sex to get what he wanted, and Shana didn't mention where she got the information, and in my own opinion I don't think anyone gave her such information in the first place. It didn't make sense that Michael would behave like this since his desire to have children was his first priority. Michael said that Lisa did not want to have children with him. I don't believe that Michael did this, nor do I believe that anyone told Shana this.
I also could not understand Shana's statements in her book that when being with Michael intimately he would say," Do you promise not to tell?" Do you swear?" Firstly let's use some common sense here. If Michael or any other celebrity were going to be with you intimately and as much as Shana claims to have been with Michael and they didn't want you to tell anyone you can best believe that they are not just going to ask you to promise not to tell, are you kidding me? If this was such a secret love affair Michael would have asked Shana to sign some sort of non-disclosure agreement. Michael had trust issues and no way would all of this have gone on without one. This woman speaks of phone sex and of Michael doing certain things while she is reading the lyrics to a song. I mean really, how far will this woman go? She also stated in her book that she was a virgin the first time that she was with Michael and that he coached her on what to do. Let's get one thing straight right now. Any woman who was truly intimate with Michael knew that he loved experienced women, and if you needed to be coached you didn't sleep with Michael Jackson. I don't mean like women who slept around or anything, I just mean women who knew what they were doing, and you don't have to be a Jezebel to be experienced. In joking Michael once said," I like them with knowledge." Yes, Michael talked about sex sometimes in private. So I do not believe her story on that one either. She doesn't seem to know the real Michael at all, and that's because he never showed it to her. She mentioned that his breath always smelled of "Bazooka bubble gum", I'm not saying that he didn't chew it once in a while, but he said that his favorite was " Big Red" I believe the name of it is. It is a hot tasting gum. It just shows further how little she really knew about him. I mean even the simple little things.
In closing all I have to say is I wish I could change the name from" Billie Jean" to" Shana M." was not my lover in Michael's song and then change up the other lyrics a bit. For me it doesn't matter who she knew, where she worked, or what tv show she was on, in my own opinion and from my conversations with Michael and his denial of any such relationship I find this book to be almost totally untrue. My opinion is that she is revenge filled and has used her time with Michael to write a book of lies on events that never happened for profit..
