I got two of these, and generally have been satisfied. However, I lost one of the cables (the ability to attach the cable is misleading - it comes off easily)., I have since bought two different, highly rated male-male usb plugs that fit, but my MacBook only can see either disc if I use the original cable - hence, I no longer can have both discs connected at the same time and don't see a way out of this dilemma. Further, I worry if I lose the second cable, all my data will have become inaccessible. For this reason alone, I'd never buy one again nor would I recommend it. It would also seem like a male-usb to usb-c should work, but it doesn't. When these questions show up in the community, Jimmy D answers them with simple answers that absolutely don't address the issue. I'm not sure what's so unique about the supplied cables, but if you lose it, you may also lose access to your data and the relatively expensive drive becomes useless.
