book ok, author condescending
Juvenile but not badly written, and not an unenjoyable read. Lightweight, but probably worth three stars. So why the single star review?
Because of the condescending instructions at the end on how to write a review. Laden with sentences in bold in case I wasn't smart enough to get the gist of the demands and full of phrases designed to make one feel guilty for not complying, I found it to be a real insight into the author's character.
The book was kind of fun, and the characters likable although hardly developed (but one doesn't expect much character development in this sort of book anyway) but I refused to even read the teaser for the next book in the series.
I'm afraid that I didn't 1.keep it short but I was able to 2. think of a title all by myself and 3. did not provide a "spoiler that could have ruined the story for people who haven't read the book yet, since if the author waited for half a book to share a secret, a surprise, a tidbit of history - please don't give it away in the review". Since the author said PLEASE. (yes, in all caps). There were three pages of that sort of crap.
