I bought the 2 pack for my trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. As I also brought my trusty DEET spray, I chose to only bring 1 can of this. This would allow me to see if this worked as well as DEET. The Good: The spray works. It keeps mosquitoes away at an acceptable level. It seemed to be on par DEET, but bugs don't generally hassle me too much. It does not smell too badly. It supposedly does not have the DEET downsides (extremely poisonous, melts plastic, etc.). The Bad: I only brought one can. It should have been enough for this trip, but the can ran out of propellant on the first day. I had only made 2 applications to my hands and head (I was wearing long sleeves and pants). There was plenty of product left in the can, but the can was out of propellant. This made it useless, dead weight on my trip. I was forced to use the DEET for the remainder of my 4 day trip. I contacted Sawyer to let them know about the failure with this and my Sawyer water filtration system (don't get me started on the issues with it!). They told me they had never heard of this happening (with either case), and I could send it to them (at my expense) for a replacement. No thanks, Sawyer. I will look elsewhere.
