Great TV - Amazon Exchange Process Was Atrocious
This is an excellent TV. Factory brightness is a bit dull in a bright room, even when you set brightness to its highest setting. To get the brightness just right, adjust the Beta settings in Advanced Picture Settings!
I’m giving this 1 star review because the nightmare I just went through receiving a defective TV in my first order, and the 12 separate calls I needed to make to get an exchange process completed. There is no way to tell the TV is defective until it is installed on the wall. So it cost me an extra $200 to have the installers come back and take the TV off the wall and install the new TV when it arrived. The size of the TV requires a freight delivery with two people - but the return service that Amazon uses only sends one person who refused to pick up the TV by himself on two separate occasions - each time requiring me to wait by my phone for 5 hour delivery windows. Each time I called Amazon and had them schedule a pickup with TWO people, and they kept sending ONE PERSON instead. When the last driver finally agreed to take it, he said I needed to pack it up and carry it outside my self. I can’t do that - it is a massive TV that came damaged to me! My wife and I had to struggle to carry the broken TV to the curb - I injured my back lifting it and can barely walk now. The driver also refused to take back the original box - which cost me another $50 to schedule a special garbage pickup to dispose of due to the massive size. This process took over 8 separate calls to customer service. Furthermore, Amazon required me to repurchase a replacement TV (instead of exchanging) - and charged me $300 more for the new TV (the price had increased) and it required another 4 calls to customer service to get a partial refund in the form of gift certificates (they didn’t cover the higher tax I paid on the new TV).
This TV is great, but I caution you buying this from Amazon and instead going to a local or other online retailer that has true white glove service because if you get a defective TV, it will absolutely ruin your life for 2-3 weeks getting it sorted. I have never been so frustrated with any retail purchase in my life. Good luck!
