I normally do not take the time to write reviews but this is a rare case. My betta fish has been acting fine every since i got him about 5 months ago. I purchased this heater and noticed that he has been acting funny (swimming only at the top) along with not being able to swim all the way down to the bottom of the tank like before couple hours later he was dead. I tested the water and noticed the temperature was 85 degrees so i shut off the heater then after shutting it off i notice it was giving off this weird odor oil and has i took the heater out the tank there was oil all over the heater. I would not recommend this product to anyone. If you love and care for you fish just spend the couple extra bucks and get a product that doesnt kill your fish.
