We ordered this Marcy Flat Bench SB-315 from Amazon more than a month ago and today it is still sitting in my hallway partially assembled in the box. When I first opened the box I thought "hm not too bad, seems to be pretty decent quality". Then the problems began. When I started to put it together I noticed that one of the support feet was defective. There were no holes in it, making it impossible to attach to the leg of the bench. They literally just forgot to drill the holes [See images]. I was somewhat annoyed but manufacturing defects happen. Even blatantly obvious ones that should have been caught by QC. So I contacted Marcy Support. They responded promptly and sent me a new part. I then found another problem while assembling the bench. One of the bolts that holds the base stabilizer to the leg was defective. The part under the head is supposed to be square so it can fit into another flat piece that has a square hole in it. Instead, it's all deformed, more like a pentagon [See images]. Argh. I contacted Marcy Support and they promptly sent me a new bolt. HOWEVER, they sent me the wrong bolt [See images] The bolt is too long, causing it to stick out from the top of the bench's stabilizer foot, well beyond the nut. This would be very painful if accidentally stepped on. It's not the end of the world, but on the other hand is it too much to ask that all the parts of this thing actually be correct?? So I contacted Marcy again. They offered to send me another bolt. I agreed to give it one last try, hoping to get the correct bolt this time. UPDATE: It's been 2 weeks since that last email, no reply and no replacement bolt yet. It's been more than a month since the beginning of this thing. UPDATE: 3 weeks later, I have received the replacement bolt. But it's the wrong bolt AGAIN. I give up. It's past the return window, so I guess I'll just live with it. Definitely not buying this brand again though.
