Good while it lasts, which is not long
I have had 2 stations and both failed in less than 12 months.
I purchased the first unit in September of 2016 and the stations temperature and dew point sensor failed after 4 months. The temperature sensor was reading almost 10 degrees higher than other weather stations nearby. I made a claim with Ambient Weather and they agreed to replace the failed unit with a replacement unit. The replacement units solar radiation sensor failed in 6 months and the temperature sensor failed in 10 months. I once again filed a claim with Ambient Weather's warranty division and this time was denied as they stated that the original unit was purchased more than 1 year prior to the failure of the replacement unit and therefore, would not replace or fix the station. It did not seem to matter that neither unit remained operational for the warranty period of 12 months.
It is unfortunate that the Ambient Weather Station is not constructed in a more durable manner as the sensors are very accurate when new. Unfortunately, after a few months the sensors begin to become increasingly inaccurate until such time as they are completely unusable for the purpose in which they were intended. Therefore, I do not recommend purchasing an Ambient Weather WS-1001 WIFI Observer Weather Station unless you only need it for temporary short term weather data or are willing to spend additional monies on replacement stations once it breaks.
