Waste of Money!
I am an electrical engineer and I say this item is a waste of money. It is not a battery checker, it is simply a voltmeter. A real battery checker will test a battery under load. Measurement of no-load battery voltage is of little use when determining remaining life of a battery. Batteries that showed "GOOD" on this item under no load, read "WEAK" or "POOR" when I placed a 100 Ohm resistor across them. That resistor provides a modest 15 mA load for a 1.5 V battery. To place this current value in perspective, a typical LED requires about that much current. This item only draws about 0.02 mA from the battery being tested.
If you want a voltmeter, purchase a cheap digital multi meter (DMM) for the same money. If you want a battery checker, purchase something else like the Amprobe BAT-250.
