Sexism and ageist
What the hell kind of description is this for a woman in the middle of her life? A deaf spoon, dull and unattractive?! I had been interested in reading this book but the misogyny and ageism turned me right off. I'm the same age as this character, and I find this view of middle-aged women degrading and sexist. I'm sorry I chose this book for my First Read, as I would like to return it!
