This is best of many meat thermometers we have owned. Just as advertised - fast and accurate. UPDATE: Stopped working after10 months. Blank screen when opened. New battery made no difference. Playing with battery resulted in -58 degree reading which did not show again after closed and re-opened. Used about 10 times on roasted chickens only. Never abused. Never wet. Nothing but sticking it in a chicken. After reading other reviews, I can see there is no point in contacting Lavatools. Will be sure not to purchase anything from them again. A one star review said they could get the thing to work by pressing on the battery. After several tries, that seemed to help. I now have stuffed a wad of paper in on top of the battery and it seems to be showing correct temp now. To use in future, I expect to have to open and play with battery each time. That will make my other standard thermometers my first choice.
