The right kind of kelp worked for me. This didn't really.
I got this after trying Iodoral, which had side effects. I have since found out that Iodoral has corn in it, and I doubt it's non GMO. I also tried kelp. It seemed to work great! But...people on Curezone & elsewhere said that kelp can contain mercury and arsenic. Dr. Brownstein, a big iodine expert, said that was true, & that it could lose its iodine content over time. (But then he sells liquid iodine.) So I tried Lugols next. It definitely didn't make me feel energetic and healthier the way the kelp did. It did give me the runny nose I heard about. So, I went back to researching kelp to see if I could find some that was healthy. I found a Dr. Lawrence Wilson's site. He says that his research indicates Solary and Nature's Way kelp are not going to cause mercury, arsenic, poisoning etc. He also says that he has seen people taking pure iodine who start to have negative effects as the years go by. He lists all the reasons why taking a food, like kelp, is so good for you. He doesn't sell any kelp or iodine products. I'm back on kelp, Nature's Way, and I feel sooooo much better!
