Great Headphones if you like sound in One Ear or just want to Pretend you have "Wireless Pods" that kinda work 33% of the time..
I really wanted to love these headphones. The idea of truly wireless is very appealing and the Rowkin set seemed to be one of the best options available. I've had 3 sets of these just for the fact that I wanted them to work. Unfortunately, each experience only further dampens any hope. Set 1 The first set I bought in November worked great for the first 2 weeks. Charger - Then the charger cylinder collapsed (not sure if it was just a flaw or not glued in properly) but since there is only one way to charge, I could no longer connect and charge both pods at the same time. I finally decided to to pry open the cylinder and expose the charger that had fallen but this became too inconvenient to deal with so I sent them back. Plus the cylinder is the holder, so there wasn't a way to house both pods without risking them falling out. Set 2 I order a second set because again, I love the idea and the design. This time however, regardless of how many times I reset and tried etc. could not get the second pod to synch, so sent them back. Set 3 Ordered a third set. A month, now the left pod volume is faint. I don't know why or if there is a way to change, but the right side sounds great, but the left is very low. I have also found the synching between headsets failing more often. Pros: Size - (compared to other pods, the size is perfect. Fit my ear canal perfectly and do not have issues with them ever falling out even when I run) Design - (best looking pods out there. I wish Apple would take note and re think that horrible design..(but the looks may be the cause of a con below) Fit- Not sure if my ear canals are odd shaped but I have always had issues with earphones staying in my ear. I also run and most sets fall out fairly easily. The Rowkin seem to be the best fit I have experienced. Now if only the sound didn't dropped in and out so frequently... Cons: Sound - Move your head in the wrong direction and you will loose signal. Sometimes, work great no issues, but its 50/50. I guess that is why the Apple earpods have that long dangly antenna. Guess you have to sacrifice something to get the sound to play properly Charge/Play time - I think it maxes out at 2 hours playtime. Charger - There is only one way to charge these and if the cylinder fails, collapses or whatever you are out of luck. Bluetooth- bluetooth in general has always been quirky. There are times when it 'remembers' and auto connects but for most part you have to open and manually reconnect. Don't know if that is specific to the Rowkin or just Bluetooth in general Maybe my expectations are too high, but given we are almost 20 years into the 21st century, there's got to be a better more reliable way to enjoy a true wireless experience. First world problems I guess....
