Huge disappointment
I dont know what has compelled so many people to rate this book so highly, but I was far from satisfied. The writer spent more time talking about the main character's thong underwear than giving any substance to the characters. for some odd reason, this "hard nosed" cop seems to think everyone is checking out her rear, the lackluster attempt at weaving a custody battle into the plot was left unfinished and seemed awkwardly smooshed into the rest of the novel, the main character had little to no basis for selecting her suspects, and the most obvious candidate for a suspect wasnt even considered. i knew who the killer was as soon as he/she was introduced into the first murder scene. The author gave no explanation as to why this very obvious candidate was totally overlooked throughout the entire novel, despite the fact that every person and their brother was a suspect even when they didnt even remotely fit the profile. Furthermore, the mother of the main character has been described (outside the text of the book) in a negative way, and she was the best character of all of them. I could go on...
