My workforce printer sucks ink at an alarming rate. Some things I have found to reduce ink usage include: 1) set default to draft and black ink only (yes, it uses color when printing b&w text), 2) use smooth finish bright white paper, 3) decrease the gamma setting, 4) increase the brightness setting a lot and decrease contrast a little. The ink itself is fine, but the cartridges have a chip that makes them not refillable, and cheap Chinese knockoff cartridges are not coming onto the market as I had hoped they would when I bought the printer. So if you are stuck with a printer that takes these cartridges, the ink is really good, just too expensive, and no relief for that appearing after a year on the market. .
