I had this item for about 5 months, I'm not here to complain about the item when it is in working condition, but what you can expect as the possibility of it not working... IN THE EVENT THAT YOU GET THIS RICE COOKER, BEWARE THAT THE MAKER MAY NOT SUPPORT YOU IN CASE OF MALFUNCTION. For the 5 months I had this item, it significantly improved my experience cooking rice. Easy to clean, less messy than many simple rice cookers. BUT out of the blue, I smelt something burning when using the rice cooker. I had already cooked a serving of rice and let it warm as I was attending to other things, and when I went to observe the smell coming from the unit, it was not the rice that had burnt, but the operating unit as shown in the pictures. I promptly contacted their support team, even sending the rice cooker for them to inspect. What they responded with in letter mailed to me was can be paraphrased as: "THE RICE COOKER WAS NOT AT FAULT FOR THE MALFUNCTION". This was shocking to me as my electrical outlet was stable, it was not an external cause, but Aroma did not take responsibility and send me a new rice cooker, even though I hadn't even made it one year through the warranty.
