All of the negative reviews are accurate.
I should not have bought this vacuum. We have a golden retriever who sheds a lot, so I thought this was a good option. However, the design is so flawed that it is essentially useless.
I have had to take the base of the vacuum apart 5 times in 5 months, due to the belt clogging with pet hair. I’ve attached a video as an example. A huge, dense wad of dog hair built up and clogged the belt, causing the roller to stop spinning. It also began to burn the hair, which smells horrendous. The amount of hair shown in the video had accumulated after about 3 uses (since the last time I cleaned it out).
Additionally, the roller brush keeps spinning at full speed even when you’re just using the hose, so if you leave the vacuum upright it can easily damage your carpet. I have to lay the vacuum on its back to use the hose. And I don’t even like to use the hose, because the pet hair attachment simply does not work.
In short, if you’re like me and want to buy a vacuum to get rid of all your pet hair, buy a Shark. We had one for four years and it worked flawlessly. A non-mechanical piece of plastic on it broke, so I wanted to try something new and I feel like I wasted my money.
Hopefully you will learn from my mistake - even though it may seem like you won’t run into these issues, with design flaws like these, you very likely will.
