Not even close to slippery elm I’m used to :(
This is NOT what a consumer expects when purchasing Slippery Elm. I’m easily the most knowledgeable person I’ve met about this miracle natural gift, even educating doctors on it many times (who all say they’ve then researched and added it to their personal & their family’s Diet/supplements plus suggesting it to patients.) That being said, I am also not a scientist who studies this, or anything medicinal for that matter. When I recieved this product today, I noticed many warning signs. First the color was far different than typical. Secondly, I saw added ingredients and verified that in the label to be fact. Then I made a mixture of this next to some pure inner bark slippery elm (inner bark is the stuff we want). The results were amazing. This product was grainy and not soothing, didn’t produce a mucilage As desired in the water nor in my mouth. After 20 minutes in hot water, it remained liquid, worthless for helping sooth a sore throat for sure and I expect wouldn’t do anything to help with digestion, acid reflux, childbirth, UTIs or serve any purpose as a porridge as was more a broth than anything. Now it could indeed be a slippery elm product or byproduct, as again, not a scientist so not testing it. But I saw no benefit for my needs to using this item. I question it’s benefits overall and even if it’s legit slippery elm but as I wasn’t part of manufacturing it nor testing, I’m stating only a concern and opinion based upon my knowledge and past purchases, personal use and consumer based thoughts. Feel free to buy and try or go with another product as I shall do. My wife wants to have it tested as she loathes not knowing when she has a concern, but I’d rather just invest that money into a supply of what I know is good slippery elm.
