*** This video clip here on Amazon is worse than the original but seems to be best Amazon can do I guess; but it conveys the general focus issue as well as the zoom noise situ... Previously had the TG-4 but returned due to its inability to quickly focus particularly while zooming. We do a lot of action water sports and need to be able to dynamically zoom to frame the shot and it just couldn't do it. Had high hopes that new TG-5 would be better but alas, no. The camera seems to really struggle to maintain focus if the subject is moving at all and zoom is employed. The motor noise during zoom is just ridiculous as well but I could probably live with that if it held focus well. I've attached sample video; my smartphone can handle this simple video task; maybe I'm missing something? Frustrating...
