I purchased a case of these from an online vendor to stash with the rest of my food storage. The unmolested foil packages were stored in a climate controlled room with very little fluctuation in temperature and humidity. When purchased, all were freshly packaged and well sealed. Nine months later half of the packages had lost their seal. I contacted Datrex and received very polite and prompt communication. They advised that I throw out the rations that had lost their seal as they may have gone bad. There was no offer to replace the rations. I went ahead and opened one of the remaining packs to take a taste. Very good for an emergency ration, but I have no confidence in this product. If half of my supply was unable to stay in a climate controlled environment for nine months without going bad I shudder to think what would happen if my life depended on a case of these that had been thrown in a trunk or stored in a less ideal climate.
