Nice looking watch - fell apart - Casio will not honor 1 yr warrantee
I'm a 6 foot tall 200+ pound professional and Collegiate All-American powerlifter - i.e. not a petite flower. The people who say this watch is small, the size of a children's watch, are just ignorant. The watch face is 39 mm across, exactly the same size as my $200 dress watch and the most common size for men's watches. The wrist band is the standard adult men's size, plastic and long enough to leave my larger than average wrist 5 unused holes (about an inch) to go bigger. I suspect most men will find the band to be on the long side. The holes go all the way around so it could cinch down to the tiniest of wrists if you wanted to have a lot of excess band (which could be trimmed). It looks sharp and the luminosity of the dial in the dark is better than most. I am a scout leader and like outdoors things so I like to have an inexpensive watch that will give me no worries about banging it up and this fits the bill well. Usually these cheap watches have batteries that go bad within a year and many self destruct if you try to open them up and replace the batteries so I like the promise of longer battery life. I suspect that what will limit the life of this watch is the plastic band, but it looks like it uses standard pins and probably can be replaced. One feature I would have liked to have that this does not have is a back-lit face, which is useful when you wake up in the middle of the night camping and the luminosity of the glow in the dark paint has long expired. For the price I am very happy with it. Update: After 2 months of wearing it on weekends only I noted condensation inside the glass. I had not submerged it nor given it any unusual knocks. Today the plastic housing split at the point where the pin holding the band inserts so that it fell off my wrist and cannot be repaired. Another Update - Casio is refusing to honor the 1 year warrantee. I followed their procedure and sent the watch with all required documentation and an explanation as to what happened. They sent back a repair estimate asking for $32 to repair it and $8 to ship it back unrepaired (all for a $20 watch? ). They will not explain why they will not replace it.
