I've had other Laskos so I thought I'd try the big boy T42950 Wind Curve Tower Fan. The fan arrived in a thin paper box - the same outer carton you would see in a store. Either because it was knocked around while shipping, or for some other reason, the fan had a rattle on any speed and with or without oscillation. If you have other fans on in the room the rattle is subsumed. But without extra muffling noise the rattle is intolerable. Fortunately I kept the box and Amazon agreed to a return. From reading other reviews it seems that the rattle may appear sooner or later. Because I have had other Lasko's that were without defect, I think I will buy in a store from now on - in hopes that their unit had a gentler shipping than mine. I'd also expect an easier return if/when the rattle should begin.
