Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I saw the advertisement for his keyboard on TV and went to their website to check it out. I have 5 keyboards in a parabolic arrangement and I do not want to have to turn on all of the desk lamps each time that I work on the computers. There was just something about the seller's (Not the same seller Amazon uses) website that I did not trust. When I read the fine print I saw that it would take up to 6 weeks to deliver the product, I decided that I would check see if Amazon carried this keyboard. Amazon got it to my door 2 days after I ordered it. I can easily read the keys from the light given off from the flat screen monitors. This keyboard does have a nice feel to it. The keys are smooth and do not stick. And the F key and the J key as well as the 5 key on the numeric pad have the standard nubs so that you can find your placement without having to look down from the screen. The keyboard is lightweight but sturdy. It feels as if it will hold up well (even when I get upset at the internet connections for running slow). I am not willing to test the claim that this keyboard is spill proof. This keyboard does not appear to be any more spill resistant than any other keyboard that I have. My only disappointment with this keyboard is that the risers open to more than a 90 degree angle. This makes the keyboard feel flat and uncomfortable. I was able to solve this by placing a quarter between each of the risers and their back stops, and then pressing the risers against the quarters. This not only puts the keyboard at a suitable angle but the ridges of the quarters stabilize it. Because I was not sure about this keyboard, I purchased it so I could test it for myself. It makes my other 4 keyboards seem very difficult to use and I will be ordering 4 more of these to replace them. ----------------------------- July 20th, 2012. I received the four new keywords the other day. They are of a slightly different design than the keyboard of my original review. The risers on these keyboards set them to an acceptable angle. The keys are also a brighter shade than on my first keyboard. Apparently there are multiple versions of this keyboard. I know that there are at least two. The keyboard from my original review was the KB-300B. The four new keyboards are all model no. ZK-520. This would explain the varying levels of satisfaction others sre experiencing with this product. In my humble opinion, these keywords vary enough where they should be listed by model number so that we know which keyboard we are actually buying. The escape key on one of the keyboards arrived jammed, but I was able to gently coax it into place and it now functions properly. Other than that I have not experienced any of the issues reported by the other users. Maybe they are reviewing a third model, or I suppose I could have just been extremely lucky. If it matters to anyone, both the original keyboard and new keyboards are 17 inches from side to side, but the original keyboard was 5 1/2 inches from front to back and the four new keyboards are 5 3/4 inches from the back. -------------------------------- Update 01/19/2013. Each of my EZ EYES keyboards have keys that the characters have started to wear off. I fixed this issue with some black enamel touchup paint. I accidently spilled a cup of water on one of them and it is no longer functional. I dried it up immediately. At first only a few keys did not work but after 24 hours none of the keys functioned. I cannot fault the manufacturer for my spilling water on their product but I can fault them for claiming that these keyboards are spill resistant. I took off three stars for that misrepresentation. I have still not experienced any of the other issues some of the reviewers have complained about. All of my other EZ EYES keyboards still function properly and they are easier to work with in low light than any other non-backlit keyboard that I have ever used.
