Not worth the price - and yes I know its currently free.
I actually purchased this book as part of a bundle called Magic After Dark and had to look up the author so that I could write a review. Especially after I saw how many high reviews it received. If you are a fan of Urban Para/Sci-Fi/Fantasy than you know this book. With a too stupid too live "heroine" with extremely rigid morals bumbling her way through a million and one supposed plot twist that you can see coming a mile away. Wait - you mean the bad guy was actually not bad and was actually a patsy for the real bad guy that will appear later in the series? No way! You mean to tell me the guy she's liked forever and who has acted irrationally the entire book actually likes her too and ask her out on a date on the last page? Get out! Even though the main character has made naive and undeniably stupid decisions, cannot take care of herself- her crew still follows her lead - cause she's pretty, has wings and guess what, she bakes! The main character is a sheltered moron and I couldn't get past that. I've never been a fan of the bumbling idiot heroine but there too many better written versions for anyone to have to suffer through this. If you are looking for a slightly dumb baking magical person, I suggest Meghan Diodge's Dowser series
