Massive
To be honest, this is one of the most disappointing purchases I’ve made in a LONG time. A $600 wagon - ought to be great, right? We bought this because we had an upcoming vacation in Spain; wanted it to help make the airports easier, to use while wandering through the town, and for our beach days. We also intended to use it at home through the city and beaches, and for hikes. We have two kids (one an infant). Perfect candidates, right? First off - people do think it’s cool (well people in LA, anyway - people in Spain react more like “what is that giant monstrosity”?). It certainly looks great. At first unboxing it seemed very solidly built, in an old-school American hand made sort of way (except that it’s actually made in China). I’ve since realized though that it’s more built in a 80s bicycle sort of way - super heavy metal tubes, heavy visible welds..it’s just..heavy. And huge. Getting it in and out of our place takes MAJOR effort. Also something to note: they advertise this as being quick to set up and collapse. Well the wagon part is - but as soon as you add accessories it becomes a nightmare. Remove and stow (somewhere) the car seat. Disconnect and stow (somewhere) the flimsy car seat adaptor. Remove and stow (somewhere) any of the accessories you may have. Now you can begin to collapse the wagon. Let me tell you - the second time I did this, to try to get on an airport shuttle, I thought “what have I done”. So let’s get to travel. First off, some airlines will accept this as a stroller. American will not. It’s WAY over the max weight that AA accepts. I managed to sneak it past them anyway (another story) and they did end up gate checking it while in was in its case. But navigating the airport with this thing was anything but easier. It is massive. It doesn’t fit anywhere. It’s hard to steer making it tough to get through the crowds. It does not fit on shuttles, trains, or busses (to be fair any double stroller will be challenging here). I had to completely disassemble it to JUST get it through TSA. Once we arrived in Spain we decided just to carry the kids and put this thing in the taxi van rather than try to set it all up again. But - we arrived. Can’t wait to navigate thru the city! Well - first of all it is so large that it does not fit in the hotel elevator without being disassembled. Each. Time. Both. Directions. Argh!! Out on the boardwalk it’s OK, there is lots of space to move about and people can get out of the way (look out - the Americans are coming through!!). Navigating the old town is basically impossible. Streets are too narrow and full of people (did I mention this thing is large?) so you are drawing attention and creating a traffic jam everywhere you go. After a few days of this we stopped using it entirely. But just as well because in day 5 or so, the brake stopped working! Pedal pushes but the brake no longer engages. Cool. We planned a beach day. Finally we can see what this thing is meant to do!! Flying thru the sand with the greatest of ease, right? Nope. Thing is so heavy it basically just sunk. I’m out there dragging it thru the sand with all my might. It may as well not even have wheels. And speaking of which, a guess a bit of sand or something got into the mechanism for the detachable wheels and it jammed, and the front wheel fell off. Now wherever we go the wheel slips out and falls off. When I have to lift it somewhere (which is often) the wheel falls off. Trying to get a Phillips screwdriver to see if I can fix it myself because this is crazy annoying. Did anyone actually test this on the beach before marketing it? Update: decided not to use this on the beach anymore, or when we go to old town, or on hikes. Will use only for longer paved walks. That’s been fine I guess except yesterday the latch mechanism for the wagon handle broke. Now the handle falls to the ground on its own every 10 minutes or so. Guess it will just collect dust for the rest of the trip and we will have to check it home bc I’m not taking that thru an airport again. Although I’m sure the company will then say they won’t take it back. In short: you couldn’t engineer a less useful wagon if you tried. I so badly wish I had not bought this. Brake broke, wheel falls off, handle won’t stay up, heavy as crap and takes forever to take apart. Their marketing is great though isn’t it?
