My mother-in-law, who was like my own mother, passed some years back. Everything she owned belonged to my children at that point. She had this gorgeous jewelry arimoir that should have been my mine to ultimately go to my daughter. A family member however, decided they wanted it before I could get to make any decisions. I'm hurt every time I see it. So needless to say, I've looked at a lot of these pieces, read tons of reviews, and this is the one i decided to purchase. So I was really excited to get this in the mail today. Not easy to get out of the box, but at first glance looks really nice. But then I tried to open the first drawer, and it doesn't come straight out, rather looks like it's going to fall out instead, and it has no rail for the door to slide in and out straight on. The 2nd, 3rd and 4 th drawers, though not near as extreme, behave similarly when opening. Looking at it from the side, the lid does not close flush with the top of the piece. The hardware on some drawers is crooked and are of different colors. And the lock is difficult to maneuver and slightly crooked too. I am disappointed to have spent all my Christmas gift money and not know what to do with this thing now that all my jewelry will not likely stay in place these drawers- and now that the packaging is in shambles being no small feat to unwrap this thing. And my room smells of whatever chemical it is treated of. Very unhappy. I had high hopes and now I just want to cry and return it. Big, BIG, mistake ordering this online. Only hope that I am helped to rectify this...
