The printer always turns itself off. It doesn't go into power save so you can print later or on another day like just about any printer out there. Every time I have to print, I have to walk downstairs and turn it on, otherwise, it shows up as unavailable on Windows 10. Mind you this is the second printer I've gotten from them since the first one was broken out of the box. It also has the tiniest screen I have ever seen on a printer. Pagers from 1994 had larger screens. This is the most user unfriendly printer I've had, and probably the most expensive. It doesn't have expensive ink cartridges so they skimped on everything else.
