Terrible Samsung service for what could be a good product
I bought this product at the end of June. It worked very well for about three weeks with a nice screen, decent battery life, and good health and fitness features. After 3 weeks the wake up gesture, and the sensors for the step counter, workout tracker, and heart-rate monitor all stopped working. I tried all the options of reseting it to try and fix it, along with Samsung support. It remained broken and Samsung instructed me to send it in for repair as it was still under warranty. I mailed the device in then was told a couple days later that they were sending the device back to me because it was a non-US/ internationally made device and they did not have the parts to repair it. I then called Samsung and they confirmed over the phone that their product, which I purchased and was still under warranty, was broken and they were going to make no effort to fix it, despite the warranty. I asked how I could tell in advance if I was buying a US made vs international product and they said I would have to know the serial number of the product in advance of purchasing it...
Thankfully Amazon is offering a refund for the defective product. Its a shame when a company such as Samsung refuses to honor the warranty of their own product when it inexplicably breaks after a few weeks of use and offer no help to resolving the problem of fixing the device other than paying a 3rd party repair person out of my own pocket to try and fix it.
